This process begins early in Term 1 of Year 12. All students are invited to a talk about Oxbridge applications.
We have an admissions tutor from Cambridge University visit the school to present guidance on applications, the supra-curriculum and interviews. The Year 12 potential Oxbridge students are invited to this event, which gives them an insight into the procedure for applying to these universities. Year 13 students attend a further interview workshop hosted by Oxford University and have individual mock interviews at a partner school or with volunteer experts from their specific field.
A visit to Cambridge University takes place after Christmas and interested students in Years 11 and 12 are invited to participate in this day trip, which aims to give a taster of what university life is like at Cambridge. They will discover in detail what the application process involves.
We welcome ex-students who are studying at Oxbridge or who have recently graduated to come in and share their experiences.
Students complete their applications to university at the beginning of Year 13 and we offer an ongoing system of guidance and support for our Oxbridge candidates, and indeed for all our students applying to university or jobs.
