Open Events

Prospective Year 7s

Thank you for your interest in Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys. We look forward to welcoming you at one of our open events. Booking is essential for all of our open mornings but is not necessary for the Open Evening, which takes place at the Tunbridge Wells campus. However, please note that this annual event is always very well attended and booking IS required for the Headteacher's talks. Please note that we are unable to provide private tours of the school outside of our open events.

Year 7s, 2027 Intake

Our next open events are intended for families of prospective Year 7s, September 2027 entry. We hold a number of open mornings at both campuses between June and October 2026 and one Open Evening at the Tunbridge Wells campus. Previously, this annual event has always been held in October but is now held in the summer (Thursday 9th July in 2026) to take advantage of more daylight hours in which to view the school.

Open Mornings
Our morning events take place while the school is in operation so places are limited and MUST be booked in advance. Open mornings begin at 08:50 with a brief address by Headteacher Amanda Simpson at 09:00, followed by a tour of the school in small groups, each group led by current students. Tours last approximately an hour. June/July open mornings – booking opens 20th April. September/October open mornings – booking opens 16th July.

Open Evening: Thursday 9th July 2026, 16:00–19:00, Tunbridge Wells campus
Our Open Evening is held once a year, after the school day, at the Tunbridge Wells campus and is always well attended. Families are invited to tour the school and speak to students and subject teachers. If you wish to hear from Headteacher Amanda Simpson, you will need to book tickets for admission to the Main Hall, otherwise booking is not necessary simply to attend the Open Evening. Talk at 17:00; repeated at 18:00. Booking opens 20th April – booking link will be available HERE nearer the time. Please note that videos and photos will be taken for school purposes throughout the Open Evening.

Sixth Form Open Evening

The Sixth Form Open Evening, for 2027 entry, will be held Thursday 15th October 2026, 16:30–19:00. Please note that we are unable to provide private tours outside of the open event.

We hold one Open Evening for Sixth Form entry per year where you are welcome to tour the school and speak to Sixth Form students and subject teachers. If you wish to attend the formal presentation from the Sixth Form team and current students (held at 17:00, and repeated at 18:00), please note that space in the Main Hall is limited and you will need to book.
