Parents/carers have the right to withdraw their child from Religion and Philosophy lessons and should contact the Headteacher if they would like to discuss this further. There is no requirement to give a reason for withdrawal. However, the Head of Religion and Philosophy would welcome the opportunity to: discuss the curriculum content and show examples of lessons, or explore any particular concerns.
Please note that if a student is withdrawn from Religion and Philosophy lessons they will be supervised in an existing study space, such as the Sixth Form Study Centre, to complete self-guided work that must be provided by parents/carers in consultation with the school. The school is unable to incur additional costs with teaching or supervision.
