One of two field trips to Pett Level near Winchelsea and Cow Gap to the west of Eastbourne.
GCSE Geology students will be visiting the coast at low tide where the cliffs provide opportunities to study the geological structure as well as searching for fossils. The two locations demonstrate the change from marine chalk to terrestrial sandstone.
While the course does not require a coursework project, it does test fieldwork skills in the second written exam paper and the exam board stipulates that fieldwork is offered as part of the course.
