Head of Psychology and Sociology (Maternity Cover)

We wish to appoint an enthusiastic A Level teacher of Psychology and Sociology to lead a small, but hugely popular and ambitious department. This is a full-time one-year post to cover maternity leave.

Purpose of the Job

The Head of Department will take lead responsibility for providing leadership and management within their subject area, in order to secure:

• High-quality teaching
• Effective use of resources
• Improved standards of learning and achievement for all

Both A Level Psychology and Sociology continue to be in-demand choices, both subjects currently follow the AQA exam board.

The ideal candidate will be an inspiring teacher who is ready to step up and provide professional leadership and management in Psychology and Sociology to secure high-quality teaching, effective use of resources and improved standards of learning and achievement for all students.  The successful A Level teacher will be committed to the highest standards of academic excellence and further developing the popularity of the social sciences through engaging and rigorous teaching. They will have a proven track record in academic success and curriculum innovation.
