Phase 1 – New teaching centre, sports centre and refurbished dining hall
Alongside KCC (Kent County Council), TWGSB has embarked upon a fully funded £7.5 million school buildings expansion plan. We intend to be better, not just bigger, and provide an environment where yet more local young people are challenged and stretched in the pursuit of academic excellence. This expansion includes:
- A two-storey teaching centre for maths, ICT and food tech classrooms – NOW COMPLETE
- A five-court sports hall – NOW COMPLETE
- A reconfigured and expanded dining room – due for completion Spring 2021.

Sevenoaks Campus: New satellite site
Phase 1 due for completion September 2021
We are delighted to report that our plans to proceed with the expansion of the school with a brand new Sevenoaks campus have been approved by KCC. Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys will provide the same rich educational experience for all our students, whether they are based in Sevenoaks or Tunbridge Wells.
From September 2021 we will offer 90 Year 7 places (three-form entry) at our new Sevenoaks campus. The first phase will offer provision for a cohort of 90 boys to experience the whole curriculum within one building, over four floors, which will include specialist provision for Art, Science, DT and Music. Our students will also benefit from on-site modern, high-quality sports facilities.
The current planning and development timescales indicate that the building will be fully completed by January 2022 and the latest project update from builders, Willmott Dixon, is available here.
Please note that all admissions for Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys are at a school level (i.e. not site specific) and allocation of places will be according to pages 12–16 of KCC's Secondary determined admissions arrangements for 2021-22.
