Role:  Link Governor for STEM

I am a commercial bank manager working with SME businesses and have seven years previous experience governing at the local village school. My son entered school here in 2011. I have been known to cycle to the south of France but more usually in the lanes of Kent every weekend.

I attended TWGSB between 1976 and 1983 and am a former deputy head boy.  I was a parent governor prior to becoming an associate governor.  I am married with two sons (one at the school and one who has just left the school to study Politics and International Relations at Reading University).

Role:  Vice Chair and Chair of Personnel, responsible for Safeguarding and Child Protection

Following completion of a Business Degree I qualified as a Chartered Accountant in London and have since been a director of a number of quoted and private companies at Chairman, Finance Director and Managing Director level; currently a board member of three companies involved in produce, stainless steel equipment and a local debt advice charity, I am an ex pupil of the school having left in 1970. I live in Tunbridge Wells with my wife and have three adult children.

Role:  Chair of Governors and link governor for sustainability 

I am a Business Development Director with a major professional services firm in London and a Fellow of the ICAEW with 12 years’ experience in audit. I have an MBA from the University of Warwick and recently completed a PhD at Cranfield School of Management. I live in Tunbridge Wells and I'm married with three sons; the eldest was at TWGSB and graduated with an English degree from Goldsmiths College.

Role: Mental Health link governor

I am a qualified Solicitor but between 2013 and 2017 held the position of Community Development Director for West Kent Mind, a local mental health charity. My responsibilities included: the development of preventative and wellbeing programmes (including for children and young people); awareness campaigns; and fundraising. I have two children (my son is at TWGSB) and live in Sevenoaks. I am now researching and writing a book about the women's suffrage movement in Kent.

Role:  Health and Safety link governor and member of the Marketing sub-committee

Having worked at TWGSB since 2007, I became a support staff governor in 2010 and co-opted governor in 2012. With a degree in Accounting, I have worked in finance and administration in large multinationals as well as a small family business.  I live in Tunbridge Wells with my husband and our three children who have all attended local grammar schools and gone on to study in higher education.

Role:  Chair of site development working group and link governor for IT 

Professionally I design and implement behavioural analysis systems for the purposes of fault management, fraud management or (as currently) for use by law enforcement agencies. My twin sons joined TWGSB in September 2014. A self-confessed petrol head, I totally rebuilt my classic sports-car, am a Formula 1 fan and help run an electric cart club at a local primary school.

I have taught English at TWGSB since September 2007, and am now 2 i/c in the department. I am married with two adult children and live locally. I lived and taught in Buenos Aires for six years, returning to the UK in 2001, when I spent the intervening years home educating my own children.

I retired after 41 years of teaching at TWGSB in 2009 and am enjoying an active retirement.

Born in Italy, I hold a degree in Business with specialisation in Marketing and Management gained at the Catholic University of Milan. I furthered my studies in the United Kingdom gaining a MSc in Tourism Management at the University of Surrey and a Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Over the years I have been an active member of the Marketing Department of national and international companies dealing with a variety of software in different sectors. A long standing member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, I live in Tunbridge Wells with my husband and our four children. Our two boys enjoyed their secondary education at TWGSB and are currently studying their chosen subject at Lancaster University and at Cardiff University respectively

Role:  Vice chair of Personnel and link governor for Careers, Business Studies and Economics 

I am currently working as Head of Strategy for AXA PPP healthcare, the largest local employer in Tunbridge Wells and part of the global AXA group. I am a Fellow of the ICAEW with a background in finance and strategy. I have held a number of senior roles within the AXA group over 15 years and previously worked for more than 10 years within the client facing corporate transactions support team for PricewaterhouseCoopers. I live locally and am married with two sons, the youngest of whom attended TWGSB and is now at university. As a complement to my link responsibilities I am also working to improve the marketing of the school.

Petra Sluka

Role: Chair of Curriculum and Standards and link-Governor for SEN (Special Educational Needs and Children in Care)

I moved to London as a German language assistant in 1986 and moved into publishing a year later. I have worked in UK publishing ever since and am currently running my own Literary Scouting Agency covering the UK market for a number of European publishers.

I am a Commercial Solicitor with more years of experience than I'm willing to admit to and work in the financial services sector, although some years ago, I did take some time out to learn to fly airliners. I have three children and am an old boy of the school. My eldest son attended TWGSB.
