Year 9 History trip to the Ypres Salient (overnight stay- Nov/Dec)
The visit to Ypres reinforces the classwork related to the fighting that took place on the Western Front, and should also develop a sense of the scale and intensity of the battles that occurred within such a small geographical area.
The planned itinerary includes: Hill 62: Essex Farm Cemetery: Hooge Crater Museum: Tyne Cot Cemetery: Langemark German Cemetery: Sanctuary Wood Museum and Trench System: The In Flanders Field Museum at Ypres: Ypres Town: and the Menin Gate.
The accommodation will be at the CJT de Lork in Kemmel.
The cost of the trip (2016-2017) is approximately £140.00, depending on the number of boys participating in the trip. It covers the cost of transport, accommodation, insurance and entrance to the museums. The boys are accompanied by teachers from the History Department.
