Year 8 Residential Outward Bound Trip to Devon – Activities Week (Monday-Friday)

Year 8 have the opportunity to enjoy a stay at Knapp House in Devon during our Activities Week. Knapp House provides a range of land and water-based activities of a high quality which will challenge and develop students over a short, but extensive programme. Students will have the chance to try a range of activities including - waterskiing, surfing and body boarding, rafting, climbing, abseiling, canoeing, ringo rides, rib rides, pedal carting, crate stacking, low ropes, and initiative exercises.

Knapp House has been established as a school’s activity provider since 1982 and are extremely experienced in running safe school activity trips in the UK. Knapp House is surrounded by 60 acres of farm land which encompasses gardens, woodlands and fields.

Wetsuits and equipment are provided for White Water Rafting and Surfing.

Every session will be led by an experienced instructor with a relevant qualification and best practice will be followed in each activity.

Each student will be provided with all the necessary specialist equipment and every session will begin with a pre-activity briefing. This includes information regarding the site, the equipment and all safety requirements.

All sessions serve as an introduction to an activity which students might want to pursue on their return home.

The accommodation will be on a full board basis with the students staying in in dormitory style rooms with bunk beds, in friendship groups of 2, 4 or 6 as arranged by teaching staff. All meals will be provided whilst the group is on-site.

The full cost of this trip, inclusive of full board, accommodation, travel, instruction, facilities, insurance and safety equipment (2017-2018) is £410.00 payable in two stages.
