This process begins with an introductory assembly to students in Years 11 and 12 with Oxbridge level GCSE grades or predicted grades. These students are then invited to a talk about Oxbridge applications.
We have an admissions tutor from Cambridge University visit the school to do an interview workshop with Year 13s who have applied to Oxford or Cambridge. The Year 12 potential Oxbridge students are invited to this event, which gives them an insight into the procedure for applying to these universities. Year 13 students attend a further interview workshop hosted by Oxford University and have individual mock interviews at a partner school.
A visit to Cambridge University takes place after Christmas and interested students in Years 11 and 12 are invited to participate in this day trip, which aims to give a taster of what university life is like at Cambridge. They will discover in detail what the application process involves.
We plan for ex-students who are studying at Oxbridge or who have recently graduated to come in and share their experiences.
Students complete their applications to university at the beginning of Year 13 and we offer an ongoing system of guidance and support for our Oxbridge candidates and indeed for all students applying to university or jobs.
