Sixth Form Charity Fancy Dress Fun Run
The annual Sixth Form Charity Fancy Dress Fun Run took place at Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys on a sunny, but cold morning on Tuesday 25th April.
Competitors took part in several fun events such as: the sack race, the wheelbarrow race, the 3 legged race and ended with a 800m fun run. Costumes included a vicar, flamenco dancers, the Mario brothers, the 118 team, a giant raspberry, Sherlock Holmes and many more. The event - organised by Deputy Head Student Joshua Rapley and a team of Senior Prefects, was a lot of fun, but more importantly all proceeds raised went to the Head Student’s Charity which this year is Demelza House, an organisation that provides hospice care for children.
Sixth Form students at the school work hard to support their chosen charity each year, organising events such as the Fun Run, Quiz nights, own clothes days, cake sales, sponsored sporting activities etc. Their efforts so far this year have raised an impressive £4084 (with some more to come) for this amazing local charity.
