Marking the 75th Anniversary of VE Day

As you will know, Friday 8th May is the 75th anniversary of VE Day. As the nation commemorates the end of the Second World War, we would love to bring our community together, virtually. Here are some suggestions of activities in which your family can participate. It would be great to create a communal commemoration.

Please send us pictures and videos by Monday 11th at 12:00pm to help create a TWGSB VE Day 75 celebration.

Please use your school "onedrive" account to share the files with or alternatively, you can use google drive or the website - Use this link to design bunting and send pictures to us – National military service Virtual VE Day 75 Festival  - Great information and activities for a VE Day party pack, recipes for 1940s dishes, song lyrics to popular songs and dancing the lindy hop swing. We’d love to see what you’ve done so please send pictures and videos. - lots of activities and ideas that you can send to Dan Snow and us at TWGSB. Perform a song, write a poem, share a story about someone in your family during WW2 or write and perform a short play. - A short documentary about life during the air raids - A short documentary about children during the war - For first-hand accounts - First-hand accounts - join the live singalong at 9pm 8th May, and watch the BBC at 3pm to hear Winston Churchill’s victory speech and at 9pm to hear the Queen
