A Level Results Day 2019
Staff and students at Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys are celebrating another year of improving results at post 16, demonstrating the excellent academic and personal achievement of all our students. Over 95% of our students will be taking up places at university in September, with an increasing number of those students going to Russell group universities. Other students have secured highly competitive apprenticeships in leading companies in the world of work.
Headteacher Amanda Simpson said, “We are delighted with the successes of our students in maintaining and building on our excellent standards, especially with more than half of our students achieving A*-B grades. We continue to focus on building our Sixth form and taking it from strength to strength and are extremely proud of the motivation and commitment of all staff and students. ”
There have been some stand-out achievements, in addition to some that deserve particular congratulations. Though not an exhaustive list, some of those highlights include Ben Austin with A* grades in Economics, Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Physics; George Parker-Rowe achieved A* grades in Biology and Physics and an A grade in Maths; Rory Benham achieved an A* in Business Studies and A grades in Mathematics and Physics; Leo Henry achieved A* in Sociology and A grades History and English Literature. Many other students achieved 3 A grades and AAB. We are also proud of those students who faced particular hardships throughout the year and secured strong grades allowing them to pursue their chosen paths in the next stage of their lives.
