Fairtrade Fortnight inter-school football
The national Fairtrade Fortnight started on Monday and ran until March 11. During this time, the Fairtrade Organisation encourages the British public to think about the type of products they buy and question whether they are ethically sourced or not.
The Fairtrade fortnight events in Tunbridge Wells will be focusing on workers in the football and jewellery industries.
Using the theme of ‘Play Fair, Pay Fair’, St Gregory’s and TWGSB are holding interschool Fairtrade football tournaments along with Mascalls, Hayesbrook and Hugh Christie.
Year 7s played last Thursday. The boys were put into into mixed teams, thoroughly enjoying playing with friends from other schools. They entered into the spirit of everything being 'fair' and managed to referee and arrange substitutes with little interference from staff.
Well done everyone.
