Our philosophy at Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys is that education is about personal development and should give young people every opportunity to explore and learn about the world around them.
Working in partnership with parents, carers and the wider community, our aim is to help the students who join us become fully-rounded individuals: the model citizens and fathers/mothers of the future; young people who strive for excellence in all that they do and have respect for one another, their communities and the world in which they live.
We are extremely proud of our excellent academic record and (as a selective school) are committed to achieving the highest standards. However, we measure our success on more than just examination results as academic attainment in isolation is not enough to give our students the tools they need to succeed in the world.
Our students can explore and develop their social, sporting, and cultural interests through our wide range of co-curricular activities. These activities encourage self-confidence, self-esteem, and self-discipline above and beyond the academic environment.
At Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys great emphasis is placed upon pastoral care. We provide a safe and supportive environment where all students are encouraged to achieve their best personally, socially and academically. We promote the values of respect, responsibility, independence, awareness and tolerance.
We hope that anyone who walks into our school will be struck by the vibrant atmosphere along with the high level of student engagement and enthusiasm. There is tremendous community spirit among the students here, a tangible sense of pride in the school and a great feeling of mutual respect between staff and students.
