Joint Careers Fairs

Every other year we hold a joint careers fair with Skinners School and Tunbridge Wells Girls Grammar School for students in Year 10 to 13.

The TWGSB evening on 15th November 2017 offered various talks on Engineering, Project Management, Quantity Surveying and Architecture. There will also be talks on Business, Accountancy, Insurance, Finance and working in the City along with careers relating to IT. 

Display Stands at TWGSB: 

  • The University of Surrey: A representative from the university will be available to discuss various aspects of university life in general.
  • Apprenticeships: The Kent Association of Training Organisations (KATO): Find out about the wide range of apprenticeships that may be on offer whilst gaining a nationally recognised qualification, gaining experience and earning a wage.
  • Oyster Worldwide & Gap 360: Why take a Gap Year? What are the benefits and possible drawbacks? Come and speak to the experts.
  • Creaseys Chartered Accountants: Whether you are a graduate or a school-leaver, your first training qualification will be the AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians), which will provide you with a solid grounding in the basics of accounting, tax and bookkeeping.
  • The National Citizenship Service (NCS) Network: By participating in the scheme you can add skills to your CV and UCAS personal statement, and improve your chances of going to university.
  • AXA PPP: AXA PPP healthcare offer a range of health insurance policies for individuals and businesses and also offer work experience placements to students.
  • Runway Training: Advice on apprenticeships and exploring alternatives to the University Route. Speak to a finalist in the West Kent Young Entrepreneur of the Year about his experiences.
  • Faithful & Gould: Faithful & Gould is an international consultancy providing project management and cost management services for construction and engineering projects.
  • Raymond James Investment Services: For information and advice about careers in the financial services industry.

The Skinners’ evening on 7th November 2017  offered talks on the Army and Navy, Journalism, Teaching, Media, Printing and Publishing, the Police, Law, working as a Commercial Airline Pilot, working with languages, and Graphic Design.

The TWGGS evening on 23rd November 2017 will offer talks on Careers in Chemical Engineering, Conservation and Sustainability, Dentistry, Diet & Nutrition, Explosives Detection (from the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory), Health Sciences, Land-based careers, Medical Diagnostics, Medicine, Medical Research, Midwifery, Nursing, Pharmaceutical Practice, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Veterinary Practice, and, it is hoped, Astrophysics, Gas and Oil Exploration, and Psychiatry.
