This meets every Tuesday and Thursday in E4 at 12.30pm for lunch. Sixth Form.
As part of our commitment to helping students reach their potential we have introduced a focused approach to preparing students for applications to
Ideas for wider reading: Strong applicants to Cambridge and other competitive universities tend to have explored their chosen subject through wider reading outside the classroom, as well as doing very well in their GCSEs and A-levels.
This process begins with an introductory assembly to students in years 11 and 12 with Oxbridge level GCSE grades or predicted grades. These students are then invited to a talk about Oxbridge applications which this year is held at Walthamstow Hall in Sevenoaks.
We have an admissions tutor from Cambridge University visit the school to do an interview workshop with Year 13s who have applied to Oxford or Cambridge. The Year 12 potential Oxbridge students are invited to this event which gives them an insight into the procedure for applying to these universities. We plan for ex-students who are studying at Oxbridge or who have recently graduated to come in and share their experiences.
Students complete their applications to university at the beginning of Year 13 and we offer an ongoing system of guidance and support for our Oxbridge candidates and indeed for all students applying to university or jobs.
