Dan Marshall, Jamie Clemmow, Joe Maunder and George Kennedy are through to the semi-final defeating Sevenoaks school by the narrowest of margins in a thrilling match.

Josh Bentham outclassed the opposition at the Kent Schools’ Athletics Championships, winning the Intermediate Boys’ 1500m by more than two seconds with a new personal best time of 4-10.8. Also taking part was Angus Wyatt who gained a highly creditable 9th place finish with 4-39.3. Lewis Church produced a splendid double, winning the Year 7 200m and Long Jump titles, the latter with an excellent leap of 4.74m.

Friday 12 June, George Kennedy (despite a long enforced lay-off with a back injury)and his partner James Dickens reached the last sixteen of the Kent Schools doubles. Piers Jahn and Alex Chapman achieved the same place in the juniors.

As a reward for their efforts working towards acheiving Eco School Status, members of the Eco Club spent day out at Bore Place, an organic dairy farm at Chiddingstone, near Edenbridge.

Year 13 Media Students, Danny Vigar, Tom Morton and Mark Pratt, were contacted by The Script's PR company after the latter saw the boys' video of the band's track 'Before the Worst' on YouTube.

TWGSB Tennis Year 7 and 8 teams took part in a Junior Central League triangular match versus Hayesbrook and Aylesford Sports Colleges. One team was undefeated and the other ensured a healthy lead going into the second round of matches in a two weeks time.

In April 2009 the TWGSB Year 10 and Year 11 football squads embarked on a six day tour of Villarreal CF, Spain. Both squads had recently been crowned Kent Schools’ champions and were eagerly anticipating the prospect of playing football abroad.
