In the past, a partner school would have needed to be physically close by, and we do have four primary partners and one secondary partner in Tunbridge Wells. However, we are building links with schools around the world. On our recent visit to our partner school in South India we were able to fund their purchase of a computer and webcam which will enable use to have real-time video conferencing between our students. Equally, as a Humanities School we are creating links with other Humanities schools in England to share ideas and experiences.
One important area we are developing is to create links with our primary partners. The History and Music departments have been working closely with Speldhurst Primary school, our older students have been into the school helping younger people with their work, every one involved has loved the experience and it has helped to smooth the transition between primary and secondary school.
We plan to enable our secondary partners to have access to the school Virtual Learning Environment so that we can build more meaningful and effective links between the pupils.
